[1]
väliseestlane – a term used to describe those Estonians, who fled Estonia during the first half of the 20th century, mostly just before the Soviet occupation of Estonia in 1944, and their descendents. Although these Estonians ended up all over the world, larger communities developed in Canada, the USA, Sweden and Australia.
